Family walks in and around Swindon
Peatmoor Lake
At Peatmoor Lake there is a looped trail around the lake that is suitable for pushchairs and walkers of all ages. However there are some smaller pathways away from the trail and a lovely copse that are not suitable for pushchairs.
Coate Water Country Park
Coate Water Country Park is a haven for wildlife. The woods are home to many birds and the lake is a nesting place for many waterfowl. There are several walking routes around the park, many of them are level which means they are suitable for pushchairs.
Shaw Forest Park
Shaw Forest Park has woodlands, meadows & other habitats, plus bird & wildlife viewing. Dogs are welcome so it's the perfect place for a family stroll with your furry friends too!
Hagbourne Copse
Hagbourne Copse is a small but beautiful copse that is approximately an hour walk. No amenities, just beautiful pathways through the trees and if you go at the right time there are lots of bluebells too!
Canal Walk
The Canal Walk is a fantastic buggy friendly walk with lots of benches so you can stop and admire the beautiful views. This 5 miles circular walk visits the Wilts and Berks Canal, the Old Town Railway Path, Lawns Park and Queen's Park and offers nice views of the surrounding countryside.
