Lydiard Park is a beautiful historic estate on the western edge of Swindon, with the Palladian House, Church and Walled Garden, set in 260 acres of parkland. Dogs are allowed in the grounds and the park is a lovely destination for a walk, run or bike ride. There are BBQs available to hire in the summer and lots of picnic spots.
Town Gardens
Town Gardens in Old Town is known for its beautiful trees, rose garden, bandstand and picnic spots. There's also a family-friendly cafe to grab a coffee with friends. Queen's Park
Queens Park is a hidden gem just a stone's throw away from the town centre (Town Hall end). The park is open daily throughout the year although all the gates are locked at dusk. You can enjoy the large lake and feed the ducks and swans, visit the "secret garden" and there is a large open space for your kids to run around in and play.
